Artifical Grass: Eco Friendly?

By: Rex Freiberger

Artificial grass is also referred to as "waterless grass" as it is manufactured of plastic, a material purported to be ecologically benign. It requires less maintaining than does natural grass, and, of course, no watering. As is well known, a natural lawn needs a lot of water. Because of the dearth of water sources in many areas, artificial grass is believed to be the best alternative to living grasses for lawns of residences located in such places.

The greatest advantage to this is that you don't have to apply any kind of fertilizer. After all, spreading fertilizer is not only a tedious task but often results in the environment becoming degraded, especially in relation to our water supply. When it rains, fertilizers and other wastes are carried by the run-off into nearby rivers, ponds and other bodies of water, which will thus become increasingly contaminated.

It is obvious that there are numerous advantages to installing artificial grass (otherwise known as synthetic grass). If you put down artificial grass, the air around your home will become significantly less polluted. Also, with a synthetic lawn, you never have to be concerned about mowing the grass.

Environmental Protection Agency or EPA studies have shown that when you use a lawn mower for about one hour with petrol, it is almost equal to driving hundred miles in a car. The best alternative is to set up synthetic grass which will cut down pollution and at the same time you do not have to worry about the maintenance part.

There have been studies which have shown that the smell which comes from cut grass can definitely be unsafe for the world. Educational studies in Australia have shown when grass is cut, some sort of hydrocarbons are flown into the air as wells as going into our atmosphere. As well as making this much worse on a smoggy day.

Now is the time that people need to start looking at the pollution levels before using a lawn mower. Using fake grass will help so that none of these anxieties come about. You will notice that your entire house and neighboring areas have now become environmental friendly. Putting in fake grass is very easy and it is not hard work at all. There is also the benefit that the grass can be placed on any type of surface without difficulty.
